Omega Seamaster

Omega Seamaster embodies the spirit of exploration and adventure. Its sleek contours, uncluttered design, and expertly crafted movement made this watch a serious competitor among other professional diving watches.

The history of the Seamaster starts with Omega Marine, world’s first diving watch. After multiple years of refinement and a number of redesigns, Omega released a new watch series called the Seamaster in 1948. Ever since the launch of the series, a number of famous oceanographers, scientists, and adventurers wore a Seamaster watch. Among them are Jacques Cousteau, Yves Le Prieur, and Jacques Mayol.

Omega continued to make advances in diving instruments and in 1999 released a revolutionary co-axial escapement which transmits energy through lateral, pushing impulses. The new movement prolonged service intervals, minimized wear and tear, and boasted extreme accuracy.

In addition to the new movement, the Seamaster series received a facelift. New designs reminiscent of the 1960’s Seamaster series watches featured new colors, dials with better readability, and a new luminous compound added to the markers. Omega also made some improvements to the durability of the watch by equipping it with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, durable, anti-corrosion, luxury bracelets, and a gas escape valve for the deep sea diving models.
