Panerai Special Editions Collection is like no other Panerai collection you have ever seen. The watches in this collection are limited release representations of what it means to be a leader in the luxury watch business. These stunning timepieces range from understated and elegant to higher complicated and extraordinary.

Every year since 1997 Panerai produced a small number of special edition watches to delight and entice the Paneristi all over the world. These watches have a wide range of complications, unusual designs, and are crafted of only the best, corrosion resistant materials.

RETURN TO THE ORIGINAL

Shortly after Panerai was bought by the Richemont group in 1997, the company released their first Special Edition watch – Radiomir 47 mm PAM 00021. This limited release (60 pieces) re-edition of the original 1938 Panerai Radiomir put Panerai back on the map as far as luxury professional watches were concerned. Crafted out of modern, corrosion resistant materials with an upgraded movement and a 41 hour power reserve this stunning diving watch became an instant classic once again.

The watch features classic Panerai design of the cushion case, black dial, and oversized Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 and comes equipped with the nostalgic wire lugs on a timeless leather bracelet.

1999 THE TURN OF THE CENTURY RESURGENCE

After a prolonged period of struggle Panerai was finally capable of dedicating the time and the resources to the development of new and improved models under the leadership of the Richemont group. In 1999 Panerai released a five new special edition watches. These fully functional chronograph watches were designed to show the world that Panerai is once again a brand to be reckoned with. The 1999 Special Editions Collection features:

Luminor Marine: a limited release (200 units) re-iteration of the classic Italian Navy watch displaying a small seconds dial.

Luminor Chrono 2000: a sports watch based of off the classic Luninor Marine watch with a fully functional chronograph and a three sub-dail layout.

Radiomir GMT- ALARM: a Radiomir with an additional time zone display.

Radiomir Chrono Split- Sconds: a beautiful timepiece with an addition of two counter chronograph (split seconds and seconds) as well as a tachymeter scale.

Luminor Chrono: a beautiful watch with the coveted Luminor crown protection bracket and a three subdial, fully functional chronograph and a tachymeter scale.

Y2K

The year 2000 brought a few more contributions to the Panerai Special Editions Collections. These watches include:

Luminor Chrono Flyback: an elegant watch with a contrasting black and white dial which displays a flyback chronograph with 3 counters and a tachymeter scale.

Luminor Submersible 1000M: A watch with a small seconds contrasting gray dial, date, and an elapsed time bezel.

Radiomir Platinum: a limited 99 unite release of a blue dial Radiomir watch with a platinum case.

Radiomir Zerograph: a limited 99 unite release of a classic Radiomir with a single button chronograph.

Radiomir Tourbillon: a very special release of 2 units. This tourbillon watch showcases part of the movement. This is an ultramodern rendition of a classic Radiomir.

Luminor Automatic Montecarlo 2000: This watch was created to celebrate Laureus Regatta and had a limited release of 200 units.

Luminor Marina Militare: limited release of 300 units. This blue watch is an homage to the classic Luminor.
